I got in trouble for using a dressage saddle, so to be safe i would go fo all purpose, it hasnt let me down yet.
as in english riding classes or show classes in England?
i’ve showed in both, but i think that Dressage /Show saddles are the go. they show off the horses shoulder and movement, and they also sit you deeper in the saddle adn i find they give you a better leg position.
All purpose is definatly better!
you have a wide range of other discpilines too with the A/P
i dont think they look at the type of saddle
hope i helped

I would probably go with a dressage saddle, I’ve never shown in one of those types of classes, but I do know the dressage saddle, in my opinion, gives you better leg position, and I’m guessing the judges might be looking for good leg position
Good luck =]
A good all purpose saddle is normally used for hack and equitation (rider) classes.
I’d go with a gently used Stubben Siegfried. Now this saddle’s been around for decades and is still the saddle of choice.
