Has anyone sat or ridden in a Silver Fox Dressage Saddle? What do they feel like? What is the twist and balance of the saddle like? How does tree run? The only ones I have found are a reg. tree and I would prefer a wide. If anyone knows of one let me know. I need a saddle with good balance that will fit my very hard to fit horse and can't spend much of anything unfortunately. Right now he is in a County Connection 17.5 M with skidrow pannels and it fits really well, but it's not my saddle.

I had one and resold it. They are made in China poo! Poorly made, weird tree and uncomfortable.
If your horse is at all wide the reg tree will likely not fit. The standard asian made saddle seems tailored to fit only underfed TBs with very high withers. I put mine on a healthy TB and it didn’t fit well.
I don’t trust the quality or the fit. I know what a pain it is to have a hard to fit horse, but If you can put away $100 a month for a few months and tough it out bareback or with a loaner, you’ll be in the price range for a decent used saddle or even a synthetic.
I hate to sound like a leather snob, but India and China do not produce quality saddles.
If you have to go the economy route, look at Argentinian stuff.
ok if it is the same Silve rFox that JTY international sells DON"T BUY IT!!! I work at a feed and tack store as the equine mgr. SIlver Fox is one of the brands you can order form JT International and the ones form them are crap. they are leather but cheaply made. I have had to return abou 6 saddles from them this year b/c customers buy them and within 2 weeks the stitching is comingout buckles break..etc etc…. I actually have rcently refused to carry or even order them. Now if it’s a completely different brand I have no idea but the ones from Jt Int suck
Most Dressage saddles, say like a Stubben, which is far from the most expensive run $1500. and up, the Black Country Eventing and Dressage are $2400. used. A $4000. Dressage saddle or any eventing saddle is the norm. The "twist" and "waist" is up to your comfort, what you feel good in. These saddles mentioned above can be built to fit at no extra charge. I just checked out E-bay and there is a Country Connection used for $2400.
You get what you pay for. This is a piece of junk!! It’s like going from a Rolls Royce in quality and comfort to an old Chevy Chevette that rattles and looses parts over bumps and has a seat with springs sticking out.
It would also be miserable for you horse. You either need to keep using that county and save your money , or get a Wintec or my favorite Barefoot treeless london dressage saddle (both under $1000, but good for horse and rider), or save a few thousand for a used County or a few more thousand for a new one. As for used saddles, you can get all your info in the internet about twist and panels. Avoid Ebay and look for saddles that you can try first.
I used to live by this place in West Chester, PA. You can try saddles and they mail them to you for $20. Nice owners, HUGE tack shop, bigger than stateline. The used saddle selection is so massive, I couldn’t even browse….. had to ask. too many to just glance at! LOL They sold my saddle very quickly. They don’t have a county C in W right now, but will gladly tell you similar saddles if you call them or looks at the new ones on their website. http://www.saddlesource.com/usedsaddles.htm
Another place I used to live by. Lots of used saddles turned over fast, not as big as Ricks, but helpful. C Connections aren’t as common as other models! http://www.pelham-saddlery.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=sad
I don’t recommend any thing from Silver Fox. I have one and i really don’t like it. I got it for cheap, but its not a god quality saddle. The leather is really coarse grained, the stitches are coming out, and i think my tree is crooked. It is a wide tree.
They are a cheap saddle and overall they do not fit well and are not well made. In the long run they are not going to hold up to long trem use.
Save your money and buy something better quality even if you have to go with a used one.
Just be sure it fits your horse.
They are very poor quality saddles, made in India. I would NOT buy one. I would look for a used Wintec 500 or Pro with the changable gullet, or a Thorowgood synthetic saddle. Both are good quality for synthetics and won’t cost you a fortune (new or used).
Or, look for an older BROWN Dressage saddle. You can often find good deals on them since brown is not "in" for Dressage right now. If you hate brown, then just take it to a saddle repair shop and have it dyed black! It works like a charm, and you’ll save yourself a bundle
. Stick with European brand names like Kieffer, Passier, Courbette, Stubben, Crosby, etc. All have been around forever and aren’t too hard to find used.
