Can I Use A Dressage Saddle in Hunt Seat Classes?

by Admin on May 4, 2010

I used to do dressage and bought a beautiful dressage saddle before winter. Now, I've decided I want to show in regular classes, not Dressage. Can I use a dressage saddle in regular Hunt Seat classes? Or do I have to buy a regular Hunt Saddle? Please help! (:

Hey!
I use my regular english saddle for dressage and jumping and all my other events if my dressage saddle is being fixed. as you can see, we are training a very VERY nasty horse right now who likes to destroy our tack…(dont ask:)
So my answer is yes!
A good judge who done this for awhile will honestly not care as logn as you and the horse are doing what you are suppose to do and look good, you will be good! Just remember, you are the best! You have the best tack, your horse is the best, you are the best, and you will go home with the blue ribbon:)<3

Not over fences. You could probably get away with it at a local show, on the flat, but you would look rediculous over fences.

Sorry, but you can’t. The saddles are very different. Try getting a used Close Contact or All-Purpose saddle. You can sometimes find a good deal on a nice saddle, so you won’t have to spend too much on a another one.
